।। திருமூலர் திருமந்திரம் - இரண்டாம் தந்திரம் - 5. பிரளயம் - பாடல் 5 ( திருமந்திரத்தில் பாடல் 366 )- பொருள் ।।
இறைவனை ஏற்காமல் அவரை குற்றப்படுத்தும் வழிகளைப் பின்பற்றி நடக்கும் உயிர்களை பிரளய காலத்தில் மாபெரும் அழிவிலிருந்து காப்பாற்ற தன் மேல் உண்மையான அன்பை வைக்க முடியாதபடி அந்த உயிர்களின் தலையின் உச்சியில் இருந்து ஆட்சி செய்யும் ஆணவத்தை அழித்து அவர்களையும் ஆட்கொண்டு விண்ணுலகத் தேவர்களும் குற்றம் கூற முடியாதபடி புதிய உலகங்களையும் உயிர்களையும் உருவாக்கினான்.
பிரளய காலத்தில் தம் மீது அன்புகொண்ட அடியவர்களை மட்டுமே காப்பாற்றுவான் என்று இல்லாமல் தம்மை பழிக்கும் உயிர்களையும் காப்பாற்றும் பெரும் கருணை கொண்டவன் இறைவன்.

" During universal dissolution Lord Shiva protected even those who did not accept Him as the Supreme power and did deeds against Him, by eliminating their ego which prevented them from realizing Him and made them surrender to His divine feet. He graced all such that none of the DemiGods can find any fault on Him and recreated the entire Universe and all the living beings during Universal Creation. "
" Thus the Lord was benevolent towards all irrespective of whether they are His devotee or not during Universal dissolution. "
