தேவர்கள் எல்லாம் தமக்குத் துன்பம் நேரும் போதெல்லாம்
வாடிய முகத்துடன் மனம் வருந்தி இறைவனை விரும்பிச்சென்று
இறைவா நமசிவாய என்று திருவடி பணிந்து கும்பிட
ஈடு இணையில்லாத புகழை உடைய இறைவன் அவர்கள் மேல் கருணை கொண்டு எழுக என்று கூறி அவர்களின் துயரங்களைத் தீர்த்தான்.

" All DemiGods whenever grief stricken"
" with shrunk and distressed face with regrets felt deeply willingly go to God
" and call out as NamaShivaya and fall at His divine feet praying to Him "
" and the Lord who is uncomparable in His benevolence feels sympathetic on seeing their plight and shows His grace by asking them to rise up and wipes away all their miseries. "

" தனக்குள் லிங்க உருவத்தையும் லிங்க தத்துவத்தை உணர்ந்த உயிர்களுக்கு படைக்கும் பிரம்மாவின் தொழிலையும் காக்கும் திருமாலின் தொழிலையும் அளித்து அந்த உயிருக்கு தேவர்கள் என்னும் தகுதியை அளிக்கும் இறைவன் அவர்கள் உணர்ந்த லிங்க தத்துவத்தை இறைவா நமசிவாய என்று வழிபட ஈடு இணையில்லாத புகழை உடைய இறைவன் அவர்கள் மேல் கருணை கொண்டு எழுக என்று கூறி அவர்களின் உடலில் இருந்து உயிரை பிரித்து பிறவா நிலையை அந்த உயிருக்கு அளிப்பார். லிங்க வடிவின் தத்துவமும் இறைவனும் ஒன்றே என்பதை இப்பாடலின் மூலம் உணரலாம்."

" To those living beings who internally witness the Linga form and realizes the Linga philosophy that Lord Shiva is the Supreme and Primordial divine form, who is the primordial divine power and the cause for all actions in this world, for such a soul He gives those living beings the function of creation which is Brahma's role and the duty of protection of living beings which is the role of Vishnu thereby giving them the status of DemiGods. So when they utter Namah Shivaya and fall at His divine feet praying to Him the Lord who is uncomparable in His benevolence feels sympathetic on seeing their plight and shows His grace by separating their soul from the body and liberates the soul from this Samsara cycle - cycle of birth and death. The philosophy of Linga form and that Lord Shiva is the ultimate divine power can be understood from this song. "
