"எங்கும் பரந்தும் இருநிலம் தாங்கியும் - அண்டசராசரமெங்கும் பரவி இருப்பவனும் வாணுலகம் மண்ணுலகம் என்று இரண்டு நிலங்களையும் தாங்கி இருப்பவனும்."
"தங்கும் படித்தவன் தாளுணர் தேவர்கள் - தம்மை நாடி வருபவர்களுக்கு தஞ்சம் கொடுப்பவனுமாகிய இறைவனின் திருவடிகளின் பெருங்கருணையை உணர்ந்து இருக்கும் தேவர்கள்."
"பொங்கும் சினத்துள் அயன்தலை முன்னற - பிரம்மனைப் பார்த்துக் கோபம் கொண்டனர். பிரம்மன் படைப்புத் தொழிலைச் செய்வதாலும் ஐந்து தலைகளைக் கொண்டதாலும் மும்மூர்த்திகளிலேயே தாம் தான் உயர்ந்தவர் என்று தற்பெருமை கொண்டிருந்ததால் இறைவனது திருவடிக் கருணையை உணராமல் இருந்தார். பிரம்மனின் தற்பெருமையால் படைப்பு பாதிக்கப்படுவதைக் கண்ட இறைவன் பைரவ அவதாரம் எடுத்து பிரம்மனின் ஐந்து தலைகளின் ஒன்றைத் தனது விரல் நகத்தால் கிள்ளி எடுத்துவிட்டார். "
"அங்குஅச் சுதனை உதிரங்கொண் டானே - பிரம்மாவின் கிள்ளி எடுக்கப்பட்ட தலையிலிருந்து வந்த குருதியை அந்த கபாலத்திலேயே எடுத்து திருமாலை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளச் செய்து அருளினார். "
Translation
।। Thirumoolar Thirumandhiram - Irandaam Thandhiram - 2. About eight places which were graced by Lord Shiva owing to His benevolent nature as described in Vedhas- Song 3 ( Song 341 in Thirumandhiram ) - Meaning ।।
" The one who is spread over the entire Universe covering the earth and upper worlds and supports all, "
" The DemiGods who have realized the greatness of Lord Shiva who is so benevolent in gracing those who surrender unto His divine feet as their saviour, "
" got angry over the arrogance of Lord Brahma who possessed five heads and considered Himself to be the superior most among the Trinity of Gods and failed to realize Lord SHiva's greatness and power of surrendering unto His divine feet. Lord Shiav upon realizing that this act of Lord Brahma is a hindrance to Creation process took the incarnation of Lord Bhairava and plucked one of Brahma's heads with his finger nails. "
" Lord Shiva then poured the blood unto the head skull and handed over that to Lord Vishnu. "

" உயிர்களிடம் இருக்கும் நான் என்னும் அகங்காரம் அகந்தை தான் யார் என்பதை உணரவிடாமல் செய்து நல்ல எண்ணம் குணங்களை அழிப்பதுடன் இறைவனையும் அடையவிடாமல் செய்து விடுகிறது. "
" மேலும் அகந்தை அகங்காரத்தினால் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் பிறவி எடுத்து அதன் அடுத்த பிறவியையும் பாதிக்கிறது. "
" பிறவிகள் உயிர்கள் இறைவா என்னை காப்பாற்று என்று இறைவனை வேண்டிட தன்னை நாடி வருபவர்களுக்கு பெருங்கருணை செய்யும் இறைவன் "
" அந்த அகந்தை அகங்காரத்தை அடியோடு வெட்டி எடுத்து உயிர்களை காக்கும் திருமாலிடம் அளித்து மீண்டும் இந்த உயிருக்கு மீண்டும் அகந்தை அகங்காரம் வராமல் இருக்க அருளினார். "

" The Ego and the identification of "I" by each living being makes the soul not to attain the Lord and also spoils all good thoughts and thereby character of them. "
" Further the presence of Ego makes the soul to get ever into the cycle of birth and death and further bad actions in each birth keeps accumulating. "
" Atlast when the soul cries out to Lord to save it from this cycle of samsara, Lord Shiva with his benevolence
" completely cuts off that arrogance of Ego from that soul and He hands over the soul to Lord Vishnu to protect it from further from accumulating ego and taking rebirth in this world. "
