।। திருமூலர் திருமந்திரம் - இரண்டாம் தந்திரம் - 5. பிரளயம் - பாடல் 1 ( திருமந்திரத்தில் பாடல் 362 )- பொருள் ।।
பிரளய வெள்ளத்தில் பெரிய மலைகளும் நீரில் மூழ்கின. உலகெங்கும் படைத்தல் தொழில் நின்றது. அந்நேரத்தில் பிரமனும் திருமாலும் தங்கள் கடமையை செய்யாமல் யாமே தலைவர் என்று ஒருவருக்கொருவர் மாறுபட்டு கூறிக்கொண்டனர். சதாசிவமூர்த்தியான இறைவன் பேரொளி மிகுந்த நெருப்பு மலையாக நின்று வெள்ள நீரெல்லாம் வற்றச் செய்தான். சதாசிவமூர்த்தியின் ஆற்றலைக் கண்ட பிரமனும் திருமாலும் தலைவன் யார் என்பதை உணர்ந்தார்கள். தம் தவற்றை உணர்ந்த அவர்களுக்கு சதாசிவமூர்த்தி நெருப்பு மலையாக நின்று அருள் செய்தார்.

।। Thirumoolar Thirumandhiram - Irandaam Thandhiram - 5. Pralayam - Song 1 ( Song 362 in Thirumandhiram ) - Meaning ।।
" During the dissolution of the Universe all big mountains too submerged in water. In the entire Universe the action of Creation ceased. At that instance both Brahma and Vishnu failed to do their duties and claimed against each other about their superiority. Lord Shiva as Sadhashiva stood in front of them as powerful light and mountain of fire and made all the water in earth to dry up. On seeing the power of Lord Shiva Lord Brahma and Vishnu realized who the real leader of them all is. Lord Shiva grazed them both once they realized their folly by standing as mountain of fire. "
