இறைவனின் அருள் வேண்டி வேள்விகள் அமைத்து தம்மை வணங்கும் நல்லவர்கள் அனைவரும் அனைத்துவித நலன்களும் பெற்று வாழ தயைகூர்ந்து அருள் புரியுமாறு பலகோடி தேவர்கள் அனைவரும் இறைவனை வேண்டிக்கொள்ள யாராலும் அழிக்க முடியாத அசுரர்களையும் அவர்களின் முப்புரங்களையும் வில்லேந்தி அம்புகொண்டு எரித்த எம்பெருமானும் கருணைகொண்டு உயிர்களை வாட்டும் பல கொடிய அசுரர்களையும் அழிக்கும் வலிமையை அவர்களுக்கு வழங்கி அருளினான்.

।। Thirumoolar Thirumandhiram - Irandaam Thandhiram - 4. Dhakkan Velvi - Song 8 ( Song 360 in Thirumandhiram ) - Meaning ।।
" All the DemiGods in crores requested for the grace of Lord Shiva and began several sacrificial fires so that all those living beings who are good and pray them are bestowed with all goodness in their life. They pleaded with Lord Shiva to bless them and Lord Shiva, who killed all those demons and burnt their three worlds with his bow and arrow, bestowed His grace and gave the DemiGods the power to destroy all those evil demons who trouble living beings. "

உயிர்கள் எந்த செயலைச் செய்தாலும், மனம், வாக்கு, உடம்பு ஆகிய மூன்றும் ஒன்றாக வைத்து இறைவனை மட்டுமே நினைத்து அவனது திருவருளை கொடுக்குமாறு வேண்டிக்கொண்டு இறை அருள் பெற்று செய்தால் எத்தகைய வேலையையும் செய்யத்தடையாக இருப்பவற்றை அழிக்கும் சக்தியை இறைவன் உயிர்களுக்கு அருளுவான்.
