।। திருமூலர் திருமந்திரம் - இரண்டாம் தந்திரம் - 4. தக்கன் வேள்வி - பாடல் 3 ( திருமந்திரத்தில் பாடல் 355 )- பொருள் ।।
இறைவனை அழிக்க தக்கன் செய்த மாபெரும் யாகத்தில் மந்திரங்களுக்குக் கட்டுப்பட்டு அவிர்பாகங்களை ஏற்க வந்த பிரம்மன் மற்றும் தேவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் அவரவர் தொழில்களைப் பரிசாக அளித்து அந்தத் தொழில்களைச் செய்யும் சக்தியாகவும் இருக்கும் இறைவனை அழிக்க யாகத்தில் மாபெரும் அக்னி வந்தது அதிசயமாக தெரிந்தாலும். தீயாகவும் தீயை வளர்க்க யாகத்தில் இடும் பொருட்களாகவும் அந்த பொருளின் தன்மையாகவும் அதனை ஏற்று ஆவியாக்குபவனும் இறைவனே.
Translation
।। Thirumoolar Thirumandhiram - Irandaam Thandhiram - 4. Dhakkan Velvi - Song 3 ( Song 355 in Thirumandhiram ) - Meaning ।।
" In that Sacrificial Yaaga performed by Dakkan to destroy Lord Shiva all the DemiGods including Lord Brahma abided to the Manthras recited by him to accept the sacrificial oblations though it is Lord Shiva who bestowed all the powers to all DemiGods dividing their duties as well as being the divine energy who made them act. To destroy that Lord that Fire God came might look as surprising but Lord Shiva is the power in Fire God, in the causative materials needed to make that sacrificial fire appear, in the offerings that are poured into the sacrificial fire, the one deciding the nature of each and every object and the one who accepts every offering finally."

உயிர்கள் நல்செயல்கள் செய்தால் நல்வினைகள் கிடைத்து சிவனின் அருளும், தீய செயல்கள் செய்தால் தீவினைகள் சேர்ந்து அதற்கான தண்டனைகளும் உயிருக்கு கிடைக்கும் இவை அனைத்திலும் சிவன் அணுவாய் கலந்திருப்பான். அனைத்தும் இறைவனே ஆவதால் நல்லவையானாலும் தீயவையானாலும் அவனின்றி எந்தச் செயலும் நிகழாது.

" If living beings do good deeds they get good results in return as well as the grace of Lord Shiva. Similarly if they do bad deeds they get bad results in return which give them punishment as reward and in all these too Lord Shiva exists as the formative atom and thus exists everywhere and without His grace nothing good or bad happens. "
