Sri Vishnu Sahasra Naamam

Upendhro vaamanaha praamshuhu amoghashshuchiroorjithaha ।
Atheendhrassanghrahassargo dhruthaathmaa niyamo yamaha ।। 17 ।।

Transliteration - Tamil

உபேந்த்ரோ வாமனஹ​ ப்ராம்ஷுஹு அமோகஷ்ஷுசிரூர்ஜிதஹ​ ।
அதீந்த்ரஸ்ஸங்க்ரஹஸ்ஸர்கோ த்ருதாத்மா நியமோ யமஹ​ ​​ ।। ௧௭।।

Translation

151. उपेन्द्रः - Upendhraha:

One born as the younger brother of Indra.

152. वामनः - Vaamanaha:

One who, in the form of Vamana (dwarf), went begging to Bali.

153. प्रांशुः - Praamshuhu:

One of great height.

154. अमोघः - Amoghaha:

One whose acts do not go in vain.

155. शुचिः - Shuchihi :

One who purifies those who adore and praise Him.

156. ऊर्जितः - Oorjithaha :

One of infinite strength.

157. अतीन्द्रः - Atheendhraha :

One who is superior to Indra by His inherent attributes like omnipotence, omniscience etc.

158. सङ्ग्रः - Sanghraha:

One who is of the subtle form of the universe to be created.

159. सर्गः - Sargaha :

The creator of Himself.

160. धृतात्मा - Dhruthaathmaa:

One who is ever in His inherent form or nature, without the transformation involved in birth and death.

161. नियमः - Niyamaha:

One who appoints His creatures in particular stations.

162. यमः - Yamaha:

One who regulates all, remaining within them.
